1. General Policy
California state law and alcohol beverage regulations prohibit the return of alcoholic beverages except in limited circumstances. As a result, we do not accept returns of wine that has been purchased and received in good condition. All sales are final once wine has been delivered and accepted.
2. Damaged or Defective Wine
We will replace or refund wine in the following circumstances:
- Wine that arrives damaged due to breakage or leakage during shipping
- Wine that is corked (cork taint / TCA contamination)
- Wine that was incorrectly fulfilled (wrong product shipped)
- Wine that arrived in clearly compromised condition due to carrier mishandling
3. How to Report an Issue
To report a damaged, defective, or incorrect shipment:
- Contact us within 7 days of receiving your order
- Email info@anselmodamonte.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and photos of the damaged or defective product and packaging
- Do not discard the original packaging — it may be needed to file a carrier claim
We will review your claim and respond within 3–5 business days.
4. Remedies
Depending on the nature of the issue, we may offer a replacement bottle, a store credit, or a full or partial refund processed through Vinoshipper (our licensed fulfillment partner). The remedy offered is at our reasonable discretion based on the circumstances.
5. Weather & Temperature Holds
During extreme weather conditions (heat or freeze advisories), Vinoshipper may place a temporary hold on shipments to protect wine quality. We are not responsible for delays or quality issues resulting from weather events. If you choose to waive a weather hold, you assume responsibility for any resulting damage.
6. Shipping Costs
If we determine a return or replacement is warranted due to our error or a confirmed shipping damage claim, we will cover the cost of any replacement shipment. We do not reimburse return shipping costs for unauthorized returns.
7. Wine Club Membership Fees
Annual Wine Club membership fees are non-refundable. Wine included in your membership allocation is subject to the damaged/defective policy above.
8. Vinoshipper Return Policy
Since all orders are fulfilled through Vinoshipper LLC, their platform-level return policy also applies. Key points from Vinoshipper's policy:
- Vinoshipper does not accept returns of wine once it has been delivered in good condition, in accordance with applicable state alcohol beverage laws.
- If wine is damaged, defective, or incorrectly fulfilled, Vinoshipper coordinates with the winery to issue a replacement or refund.
- Claims for damaged shipments must be reported promptly after delivery. Vinoshipper may require photographic documentation of the damage and original packaging.
